A Program for Ethnically Diverse University Women

about-empower
WHAT IMAGEwhat_edited.png

OUR MISSION

The young ethnically diverse women in Hong Kong, most of whom are primarily born and or raised in Hong Kong, are bright and ambitious. However, they appear to be largely invisible to those in Hong Kong’s business and professional communities. As such, companies are bypassing an untapped resource in the war for talent, while at the same time, these young women miss out on an opportunity for a rewarding career.

The mission of EMPOWER by The Amber Foundation is to ensure career success for the young ethnically diverse women in the program by enhancing their visibility to corporates, financial institutions, schools and professional corporations.

WHY IMAGEwhy (2).png

OUR GOAL

The Amber Foundation has been providing scholarships through Hong Kong Unison for many years. During scholarship application interviews in 2017, it became apparent that, while all applicants were in dire need of financial support, without a network and exposure to potential employers their university education might be in vain.

And hence, in 2018 EMPOWER by The Amber Foundation was created with the goal of forming a business and professional network to ensure career success of ethnically diverse young women in Hong Kong who are in university through job-focused workshops and the inclusion of senior women in targeted professions, industries and enterprises to function as Group Leaders to form the basis of a professional network.
